The initial consultation is to have a chat about your current situation, where you are in the process, to get to know each other, and for you to decide whether you would like me to help you.
This can be ad hoc or on a regular basis, this lies with you, depending on how much support you need or how often you feel you need to update. If you want help with drafting position statements or witness statements for example, I will take the notes during a call, and then charge for the time spent afterwards drafting in 15 minute blocks, so £15 for 15 minutes for example.
If you feel you will need a lot of support and on a regular basis, you can purchase a block of 10 hours at a discounted price.
If you feel you need support at a court hearing, I charge £100 per hour of the court hearing. (minimum £100) I will arrive half a hour early free of charge. Travel to and from the hearing is charged at the normal hourly rate of £60 p/h unless the taken out of the block sessions.
Fees are payable in advance once you have decided to go ahead and accept out help. As with most legal / advice forms, our fees are rounded up to the nearest 6 minutes, therefore, phonecalls, preparation, emails etc are rounded in 6 minute blocks at £6, so 10 blocks in an hour. I will keep you fully informed of how many minutes have been used and how many left at all times.
Initially a fee of £120, so 120 minutes is payable, and once down to the last 30 minutes, the next block will be discussed
I aim to be completely fair, and if you feel you have had enough help and no longer wish to utilise the service, fees will be refunded, rounded up to the nearest 6 minute block. Fees are payable 3 days in advance of court hearings, and no work will commence until payment of the retainer of £120. There is currently no VAT to be paid on our fees.
I am available for Saturday and Sunday appointments, subject to availability. These are charges at £90 per hour, £9 for 6 minutes, therefore if you have paid for a block or for the retainer, 9 minutes will be deducted per 6 minutes time. This means you can be flexible and have a mixture of weekday and weekend time. I won't complete admin work at the weekend unless agreed by you, in order to stick to the £60 p/h fee for you. If a case is urgent and requires weekend work, I will agree this with yo
